Class of 2003 Gift

In late summer 2022 Nerinx will break ground on a new STEM wing, with four new labs and a prep space, and a corridor for studying and gathering. The current labs are increasingly outdated, and the interest in STEM-related fields for women is growing rapidly. Our goal is to create new spaces and programming which will continue to inspire the next generation of scientists. We hope to break ground on a new common space the following year, in Summer 2023. This will allow lunch seating for 300, adding extra flexibility to the academic schedule. The dual-use cafeteria and assembly area will be better suited for Mass and community gatherings. Your support of the campaign also includes support of the endowment which provides a safety net and continuous funds for programs such as scholarships, financial aid, teacher salaries and more. 

The school is committed to transforming the campus to better accommodate current and future students. This is the largest campaign the school has ever undertaken, and it will take the whole community. If you've never given significantly to Nerinx, now is the time to consider a transformational gift. This class gift goal is based on 50 individuals or families giving $5,000 to the campaign. For many of us, that could be $1000 a year for five years in addition to maintaining annual giving (i.e. $20 on Giving Tuesday and/or Giving Challenges). This could be given monthly which is roughly $84 per month, or in any other way each year. For other class members or their families it might be more or less. So many of us were shaped by Nerinx and our time at the school and together. We were taught to give to the voiceless and those most in need, and so many of us have continued with support of organizations for more than 20 years. Now we must also consider the importance of giving to the 14-year-old version of ourselves. Of ensuring that Nerinx women will continue to be nurtured for centuries to come. More than 50% of students receive financial aid. In a shrinking market, Nerinx is thriving with class sizes in the 160s. The future is now, and the next generation of Markers will be able to see what is possible with community. 

The success of campaigns such as this one also depends on people making or maintaining an annual gift. For many in our class, we have given say $20.03 for things such as Giving Tuesday, calendar-end calls for support. the Girls Schools Unite Giving Challenge, or in memory or honor of a special teacher. Please continue to make these smaller but significant gifts on these special days! Your campaign gift should be above and beyond, or in combination of your regular giving. In an ideal world, every alum would be an annual gift and a campaign gift at a level they are comfortable.
