Historically Black Colleges & Universities

HBCU College Fairs

Each fall, there are several HBCU College Fairs. Omicron Eta Omega of Alpha Kappa Alpha chapter hosts an HBCU Fair in October. Students will also find a lot of HBCUs present at the Infinite Scholars fair that occurs in September and February of each year. There is an upcoming virtual fair on September 20th. For more information or to register, visit the Infinite Scholars website.

The STL HBCU Alumni Association also hosts a college fair and scholarship workshop. Information/dates will be emailed to students when available.

HBCU College Tours

St. Louis hosts several HBCU College Tours:

  • Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.–Omicron Eta Omega | Tentative March 2021
    We will share the information as it becomes available. 

  • Imani Rites of Passage | March 15-20
    Visit Xavier University, Dillard, Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M University

    Submit a request through their contact us form and ask for information about their HBCU tour.  

HBCU College Applications Guide

Students can complete a lot of HBCU applications via the Common Black App. Like the Common App, students will complete a general application and submit any supplemental materials the college requests on the platform.

HBCU Scholarships

In addition to the Scholarship Foundation of STL (and https://myscholarshipcentral.org/), students should apply for scholarships with the United Negro College Fund website and The Thurgood Marshall Foundation

FOR ATHLETES

Students interested in playing sports in college should register with the NCAA and/or NAIA depending on where they want to play. Student-Athletes must be cleared by one of these organizations to be able to play in college. For more information and to register, visit:
