HEALTH SERVICES
The school nurse is available from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on all regular school days to assess ill students, to hand out approved over-the-counter and prescription medications, and to handle any health emergencies.
Illness Guidelines
Please keep students home from school if they have 1 or more of the following symptoms:
- fever over 100.4 within the last 24 hours
- worsening respiratory symptoms that are not better explained by another cause such as seasonal allergies
- repeated vomiting/diarrhea in the last 24 hours
- severely sore throat that is not relieved with fluids or lozenges
- uncontrollable coughing that is not relieved with fluids, cough drops, rest, or asthma medications
- skin sores that are draining fluid on a part of the body that cannot be bandaged or covered
Please leave a message on the attendance line before 9am if you are keeping your student home due to illness. 314-968-1505 ext. 195
Students who feel ill during the school day must see the nurse or office staff prior to calling home. Once the student has been assessed a parent/guardian will be called as needed.
Health Forms
Nerinx Hall utilizes Magnus Health for the purposes of its student health record management. Magnus Health provides a secure, efficient way to collect and update medical information online. All health forms and athletics forms are kept electronically in Magnus Health, which can be accessed through PowerSchool using a parent login.
