Fun and reflection during Sophomore retreat

Last Thursday, sophomores left campus and headed for National Shrine of our Lady of the Snows Visitors and Conference Center in Belleville, Illinois for their day-long campus ministry retreat. The theme for the day was "Hold Us Together."

"There’s not a single one of us that does this life very well when we do it all on our own.  We all need things that help us grow, that help us be our best selves, and that hold us together especially in the hard times," Mr. Zaegel said. "We all need people, a certain attitude, trust, and faith. We all need experiences of openness and vulnerability and love and connection that hold us together as we go through life. That’s what today is about."

In keeping with the theme, the retreat was filled with icebreaker activities, outdoor games, team building, and plenty of time to reflect on students' relationships with God and one another.

"The sophomore retreat was memorable and eye opening," said Caspen McAfoos '24. "It made me become closer with a lot of my classmates, and it was so nice to finally have a retreat with the entire class!"
