Marker Master Class: Theater

Sunday, Oct. 22 from 1:00-4:15 p.m.

It's time to expand your theatrical horizons with our Marker Master Class featuring the Director and Cast of Legally Blonde, Nerinx's Fall Musical! Designed to flex all of your theatrical muscles and give you a glimpse of every aspect of theater-making, current 7th and 8th graders are invited to attend this interactive workshop.

No prior theater experience is necessary. Whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned pro, you will get something out of this program!

Inspired by Miss Elle Woods herself, attendees are encouraged to dress in pink comfy or active wear.

Registration Required. $20 at the door via Cash or Venmo.

Program Details

Students will sing, dance, and have fun learning parts of Legally Blonde with our Cast and Crew. Our goal is to help you see all of the aspects of what makes Nerinx Theater so special. Snack is provided and registration is required.

The program will end with a performance exclusively for parents of the attendees from 4-4:15pm.

About the SHOW: Legally Blonde

Elle Woods appears to have it all before her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

The ultimate Broadway tribute to girl power, Legally Blonde will take you from the UCLA sorority house to the halls of Harvard. The show warms the heart by proving that self-discovery never goes out of style!

About our Director

Julie Lanier, Director and Nerinx Theatre Teacher, received both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Acting and Directing and a Master of Arts degree in Theatre Education from Fontbonne University.

Along with teaching, Julie has worked for several prominent theatre companies in and around St. Louis. She is a two-time Kevin Kline Award nominee for excellence in acting. She works locally as a director, choreographer, acting coach and was previously an adjunct instructor for the theatre department at Fontbonne University. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and she is currently in the Equity Membership Candidacy program. In 2021-22, she was named Outstanding Director for the St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards.
